Plot Synopsis

ALIEN NEWS DESK is a weekly, half-hour topical animated series set in an extraterrestrial newsroom, where news anchors Drexx Drudlarr and Tuva Van Void cover up-to-the-minute news and commentary about the universe's most baffling species -- the inscrutable Humans of Planet Earth.

Tuva is a state of the art, top of the line model AI unit (stands for Android Infotainer). She's got teraflops of integrity, exabytes of authenticity and a heart that just won't quit (assuming routine upkeep and maintenance of the plasma recoil and tertiary parallax compensators by a forwards-compatible service nexus at quarterly intervals). Her circuits are pushed to the limit by her most difficult compu-task: tolerating Drexx, who thinks he is way too good for this whole "Earth" assignment, just ask him. He was once the Wolf Blitzer of the cosmos, but a series of personal and professional embarrassments resulted in his being busted down to the bottom of the news food chain. He's constantly scheming for ways to claw his way back to the top, and is an enthusiastic sell-out or suck-up when the opportunity arises.

In the series opener, "Ungrateful Wads of Protein," Tuva and Drexx probe the Royal Family, fried chicken, and human arrogance totems (aka "Oscars"). In subsequent episodes, the duo present shocking reports on floating prisons, anti-poor fabrics, a barbaric act known as ventriloquism, special vehicles called Indycars, the grotesque pseudo-humans called bodybuilders, and much more.

On Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 11pm-Midnight, Syfy premiered the season finale of ALIEN NEWS DESK, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Princes of Mange" (11pm): Humanity's biggest threats: spidered-men, twins, and the vengeful gods known as "mascots."

"The Ultimate Shape-Shifter Shaft" (11:30pm): Drexx and Tuva reckon with the galaxy's ultimate shame: getting rebooted.
