Plot Synopsis

This reality series follows the Wyatt family, who have owned Denver's Gunsmoke Gunsmithing for 18 years and have transformed it from a small business into one of the premier firearms facilities in the world. At their shop, the Wyatts buy, sell and trade guns of all types -- everything from hand cannons to hunting rifles -- and if the customer wants a gun they can't get, they'll build a one-of-a-kind original from nothing more than a block of metal. Plus, as complete gun enthusiasts, the Wyatts test every gun on the firing range before they ship them; partly to guarantee the quality of their merchandise, but mostly because they like to shoot. The family includes: Rich, a master firearms trainer and former police officer with more than 22 years experience in law enforcement, who is an extremely talented gunsmith and only one of six people in the world certified by Colonel Jeff Cooper; his wife Renee, who runs the household and the business and doesn't go anywhere without her pistol in her boot; their 21-year-old son Kurt, a qualified pistol expert and gifted engraver who hopes to one day own the shop his father has built up; and their 16-year-old daughter Paige, a high-school senior who works in the shop summers and nights/weekends. The following guns were featured in AMERICAN GUNS: a 19th-century Knuckle Duster; Cold Single Action Army; Hand Cannon; Adaptive Hunting Rifle; and many more unique firearms.
