Plot Synopsis

Pelletier Inc. is a family-owned logging operation in Maine. In the last half century the company has grown from a single man, Gerald Pelletier, and a single truck into a crew of 35 that is run by the Pelletier brothers and their sons today. "American Loggers" follows the trials and tribulations of Pelletier Inc. as it struggles to survive treacherous weather, outrageous fuel prices and an historic recession while practicing sustainable forestry to protect the wilderness. This series also documents the day-to-day life of woodsmen and truckers who work 12-hour shifts harvesting and hauling thousands of pounds of lumber across a desolate throughway, known locally as "The Golden Road."
