Plot Synopsis

AMERICAN STUFFERS follows Daniel Ross at his unique business, Xtreme Taxidermy, where he and his team give their clients' pets a loving and lasting alternative to cremation or burial. Some people travel more than a thousand miles to Daniel's shop, and at the end of nearly a yearlong process, they go home with their preserved pets, experiencing them in their final, life-long repose. Daniel's team includes: his sassy wife LaDawn, who steps in as the company's bookkeeper and puts her foot down when Daniel's work invades her kitchen; Joseph, a burgeoning taxidermist with a cocky attitude and a penchant for pranks, wishes he could steer clear of the blood and guts; associate taxidermist Fred, a shoeless and shirtless classic redneck, who isn't scared of getting his hands dirty -- but he likes to strip down to just his pants while doing so; and new intern Dixie, a veterinary student, who has to prove that a woman can handle the unpleasant work it takes to get the job done -- but this volunteer is shocked to see what she has gotten herself into. Daniel's clients come to preserve a wide range of animals: a deceased pet raccoon that slept in the client's bed; a Chihuahua named Jazz, who causes a burly farmer to be distraught; a Yorkie pup that passed away in an incredible story that involves a hawk; a cat named Jack who has left a teenager so heartbroken that she frequently visits the shop; a dog named Precious who died because of pregnancy complications, at least according the owners who will be surprised what Daniel finds; a cat whose nose falls off during the preservation process; a pet chicken named Pauly D for his most demanding customer -- his mother; and a hairless dog, which presents extreme challenges he never expected.
