Plot Synopsis

AMY SCHUMER LEARNS TO COOK is a one-hour reality series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of Amy Schumer and her husband, James Beard Award-winning chef Chris Fischer, as they quarantine themselves, their son, his nanny Jane, and their dog at their home in the woods. During this unusual time, phoning a friend becomes a reality as the couple also stay in contact with family and some surprise celebrity friends via video, all-the-while Chris, who specializes in farm-to-table cuisine, creates comfort food with a whole lot of fennel as Amy takes the lead tending to the bar. In the series opener, "Breakfast and Late-Night Eats," Amy begins her culinary education where most people begin the day -- breakfast. While Amy mixes up an Old-Fashioned cocktail, Chris shows her how to make a perfectly Poached Egg, Crispy Bacon, a Celery and Fennel Salad and some Applesauce for their son. Chris and Amy also fry up some Homemade Latkes to channel her Jewish roots. Then Chris teaches Amy how to make some of her favorite late-night treats. While Amy makes the perfect Moscow Mule, she learns the secrets to Homemade Fried Rice, Chicken Wings and Peanut Butter Cup Cookies. Amy also prepares her favorite snack to eat in bed, Matzah with Butter.

The sophomore season of AMY SCHUMER LEARNS TO COOK premiered on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10pm ET/PT on Food Network. Schumer proclaimed, "We are happy to be coming back for a second season because sequels are always the best! Chris and I are proud to be partnering with Food Network to donate to Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp whose mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders." In the season opener, "Fresh, Not Frozen and Kids' Menu," Chris decides to teach Amy how to make some of her favorite frozen foods from scratch. While Amy gets things going with a Pina Colada, Chris shows Amy how to make crowd-pleasing Pigs in a Blanket and Pot-Stickers, before capping things off with homemade Potato Skins. Then, Amy and Chris discover that everything on the kid's menu is fun for adults, too. They kick things off with a Frozen Hot Chocolate, as Chris teaches Amy how to make Ricotta Pancakes with a shocking but undetectable amount of broccoli. The pair also hide some veggies in a refreshing Couscous Salad and hearty Meatballs.
