Using satellite imagery and LiDAR technologies to help peel away layers of modern development, archaeologist Dr. Allan Maca takes viewers back in time to reveal what earlier landscapes looked like compared to today. Nat Geo debuted all three episodes of ANCIENT CHINA FROM ABOVE on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from 10pm-1am ET/PT:

"Secrets of The Great Wall" (10pm): New satellite imagery and cutting-edge technology reveals the secrets of The Great Wall of China.

"China's Pompeii" (11pm): The community of Lajia was destroyed by an earthquake and resulting mudslide, which preserved its victims for over 2000 years; a place of human sacrifice and amazing art, this community in China was once one of the biggest mega-cities on the planet.

"Mysteries of Xanadu" (Midnight): Marco Polo described It as one of the marvels of the world and now new technology can uncover the secrets of Kublai Khan's grand capital of Xanadu.
