Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Anthony Anderson, ANIMAL NATION is a weekly talk show that features viral animal video highlights, discussions about the most buzzed about pop culture phenomena, and people who love animals. Each week, celebrities, comedians and animal experts join Anderson to discuss some of the hilarious, shocking, and emotional animal happenings in the world. Celebrity guests accompanied by their furry companions include, George Lopez, Bellamy Young, Cheryl Hines, Jerry O'Connell, Loni Love, Dave Salmoni and Jackson Galaxy. Plus, the series offers some of the most spontaneous moments when Anthony comes face-to-face with extraordinary and exotic creatures. Anderson and his sarcastic sidekick, Tina the Brain Coral, voiced by actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish, also curate entertaining and curious animal videos while comedian correspondents report from the field. ANIMAL NATION premieres on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on Animal Planet, five days after the cable channel airs a special preview episode on Sunday, February 5 at 5pm, immediately following PUPPY BOWL. In this sneak-peek episode, actor Dermot Mulroney and his chihuahua play "Name That Sound" with Anthony; SNL alum Finesse Mitchell tells a rat tale; and animal expert Jules Sylvester scares Anthony with some creepy crawlers. Then, in the series opener, comedy legend George Lopez brings out his new rescue dog; DR. KEN's Suzy Nakamura plays "Name That Sound"; and trainer Terry Simons helps some dogs and Anthony himself run an agility course live on stage.
