Plot Synopsis

Each 30-minute episode mixes interviews, archival video footage and re-enactments to tell a single story about an animal saving the life of a human. The tales include: a Canadian dog-sled racer who survived an attack by a bear thanks to one of his huskies; a pod of wild dolphins that saved a California surfer from the jaws of a Great White shark; a silverback gorilla that stood against other members of its clan to protect a boy who had fallen into a zoo enclosure; a British girl who escaped the devastating Boxing Day 2004 tsunami thanks to her close friendship with a Thai elephant; and other heart-warming, emotional and awe-inspiring stories. Nat Geo Wild aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 8pm by showing all six episodes in a row.
