Hosted by Roma Downey, ANSWERED PRAYERS is a six-part series that follows the remarkable stories of people in life-threatening situations who have experienced moments so inexplicable that they can only be described as divine intervention. Using first-person interviews, dramatic re-creations and real footage, each hour-long episode paints a portrait of ordinary people who have faced extraordinary circumstances -- and miraculously lived to tell the tale. Each individual's unwavering faith and trust in the power of prayer has transformed potentially heartbreaking situations into stories of true inspiration -- from a young boy buried for hours under eleven feet of sand, to the horror of a pastor stabbed 37 times, to a family that survives their car plunging upside down into an icy river bank. The series premiere features two families: an Indiana mother, who hears the voice of God telling her to prepare for a possibly devastating storm and protect her three children -- mere moments before a tornado rips through their home, hurling it hundreds of feet through the air; and parents who make the agonizing decision to have their young son's leg amputated after a horrific lawnmower accident -- and on the day of the operation, what their son sees on the ride to the hospital could be the answer to their prayers and may change his life. On Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 1pm ET/PT, TLC premiered the season finale of ANSWERED PRAYERS. In the season ender, "Out of the Darkness, Into the Light," a Utah family is trapped in a car in an icy river. A Washington mother cradles her baby boy as a deadly mudslide threatens their lives. A New York City window washer plunges to certain death. Only a miracle can save their lives.
