Plot Synopsis

Hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER features adult contestants who test their smarts against a group of 5th graders as they try to win $1 million dollars. Whether they are doctors, lawyers, pilots or military personnel, the grown-ups need the help of these real-life fifth graders, as they are asked 11 increasingly difficult grade-school questions, covering 10 subjects taken from first-through-fifth grade textbooks. If a player correctly answers the first 10 questions, he/she can answer a sixth grade question worth $1,000,000. On Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT, FOX premiered the fourth season of ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER? with Jeff Foxworthy as host and a new class of fifth graders. After nearly a six-year break with no new episodes on network television, ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER? returned with new elements for a new generation of viewers, including the "The Grade School Give Away," in which contestants reaching the $10,000 level can play for a deserving school that also could win $10,000.
