Plot Synopsis

THE ASSOCIATION follows one basketball team from the National Basketball Association (NBA), going behind-the-scenes with the team's coach, general manager and other executives -- from the time training camp opens through the preseason games and during the grind of the regular season. Each year, this program focuses on a different NBA team. On Friday, April 16, 2010 at 5pm ET, ESPN first aired THE ASSOCIATION: LOS ANGELES LAKERS as a one-hour special, and then presented the series premiere -- which was the first episode of a five-part season about the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics -- on Friday, December 3, 2010. For the 2011-12 NBA season, THE ASSOCIATION switched networks from ESPN to NBA TV, and highlighted the Denver Nuggets in a lockout-delayed season premiere that bowed on January 25, 2012. For the show's third season, which opened on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, THE ASSOCIATION featured the Brooklyn Nets, who moved from New Jersey to their new $1 billion home in Brooklyn, with a roster that includes All-Star Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Gerald Wallace. After a flurry of off-season trades, will the new-look Nets contend for a championship?
