Plot Synopsis

Set inside a modern police force, this satirical workplace dramedy revolves around an earnest PR executive who attempts to modernize London's law enforcement culture -- only to discover her certainties shattered and herself undermined in the murky realpolitik of contemporary policing. London's police force is in need of a public image revamp, and Chief Constable Richard Miller finds Liz Garvey, an American visionary from the world of new media, who tries to revolutionize the force's PR department. Liz preaches transparency and honesty, but she finds it isn't easy to control the news agenda, particularly because her deputy, the Machiavellian Finn, trades stories with journalists over boozy lunches and is determined to build the department's fortress walls higher. If that means bringing down the person who got what should have been his job, so be it. And as an outbreak of violence erupts across London, Liz's vision for the future of the police force faces its greatest test. Channel 4 premiered the feature-length BABYLON pilot in the UK on February 9, 2014, and then debuted the series later in the year on November 13, 2014. Two months later, SundanceTV aired the U.S. premiere of BABYLON on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT.
