Plot Synopsis

Based on Volker Kutscher's novels, BABYLON BERLIN is a German-language scripted series that follows haunted cop Gereon Rath and bad typist Charlotte Ritter as they try to uncover a political conspiracy amid the vice and glamour of 1929 Berlin following the hijacking of a Soviet train. Immediately following the train hijacking, Chief Inspector Rath moves from Cologne to Berlin to pursue his mission. While interrogating Konig, Rath loses control of the situation; meanwhile, Charlotte moonlights to make ends meet. As the freight train arrives in Berlin, tempers explode in Charlotte's household. Then, at the May Day protest, police action spirals out of control and a body is found in a canal. BABYLON BERLIN had its U.S. premiere on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the 16-episode first season.

The 12-episode third season of BABYLON BERLIN premiered on Netflix on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Weeks before Wall Street's 1929 crash, Rath and Charlotte investigate an actress's suspect death, while Greta is tried and the Black Reichswehr regroup.
