Plot Synopsis

Based on the hit feature film BAD TEACHER, this half-hour sitcom follows a former trophy wife who masquerades as a middle-school teacher so she can find a new man after her wealthy husband left her penniless. Dumped, divorced and broke due to a disastrous pre-nup, Meredith Davis is inspired by her friend's stepdaughter, Lily, to devise the perfect three-step plan:
1. Pose as a teacher at Lily's ritzy middle school;
2. Meet and marry a rich single dad;
3. Return to a lavish lifestyle.
Using a phony resume, Meredith charms Principal Carl Gaines, who is easily duped and oblivious to her agenda, and he hires her as his new Social Studies teacher. Because she has no lesson plans, shows BREAKING BAD in class, and has a bottle of vodka in her desk drawer, Meredith may be the worst teacher ever, but she still manages to impart her students with much-needed life lessons. The faculty at Richard M. Nixon Middle School includes: Joel, her handsome former high school classmate turned gym teacher who sees right through her but is amused by her antics; Irene, a shy, introverted teacher who's overly excited at the possibility of making a best friend; and Ginny, the up-tight faculty president and busybody who resents Meredith and suspects something's fishy.
CBS pulled this series from its schedule following its fifth episode on May 22. Then, BAD TEACHER returned six weeks later on Saturday, July 5 from 8-9pm ET/PT, as CBS burned off the remaining four episodes by broadcasting two shows back to back on consecutive Saturdays.
