Plot Synopsis

From St. Thomas to Mackinac Island, Michigan, host Katie Lee beach hops to find the local take on the best treats these islands have to offer. Originally scheduled to debut on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10:30pm ET, the pilot of BEACH BITES premiered one week later on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT after Cooking Channel made a last-minute schedule change. In the pilot, "Doing the Island Hop," Katie samples fresh Ahi Tuna Nachos, helps cook a one-of-a-kind Caribbean Stewed Chicken, kayaks to shore for a burger with a unique twist and enjoys Oyster Escabeche -- with oysters she helped harvest. More than nine months later -- on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10pm ET/7pm PT -- Cooking Channel broadcast the official series premiere of BEACH BITES. In each of the six half-hour long episodes, Katie searches high and low for the most mouthwatering meals and gets a look at how they are prepared. In Miami, Katie snacks on pork and chicken Cuban pressed sandwiches, then over in Key West, she nibbles on Conch Fritters with a home-made key lime sauce from local limes that made the island famous. In Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, Katie gets tropical with Coconut Shrimp Arepas. Over on the Golden Isles off the coast of Georgia, Katie finds Crab Hush Puppies with Homemade Pickles -- the perfect mix of traditional Southern fare with a seafood flair. While in St. Barths Katie gets a taste of European-luxury and casual-island cooking with Snapper Chimichurri served with local Caribbean Squash. Then it is bold flavors and spices with Chile Rellenos in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico and a sweet sip of a Pineapple Raicilla Cocktail to wash it down. Season 2 of BEACH BITES WITH KATIE LEE premiered on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on Cooking Channel. On her travels for the second season, Katie gets a first-hand look at how the local chefs prepare the finest fare that the shores have to offer. From shrimp and crab cakes in South Carolina, grilled fish tacos in Florida, barbequed chicken sandwiches in Alabama, and spicy poke in Hawaii, Katie dives into it all. In the season opener, "Every Day Is Fry Day," Kate is on a mission to find the best golden-fried goodness the beach has to offer! First up, South Carolina for local fish, shrimp and crab cakes that are battered and crisped for the perfect Fried Seafood Platter. Next, Katie finds a twist on a Southern staple with Chicken Fried Wagyu in Alabama. Katie carves her way through a Chicken Chimichanga in Arizona. In Hawaii, Katie mans the wok to create an amazing whole fried fish. In Florida, Katie finds a heavenly A Frita de Desavuna- a fried egg and deepfried avocado, open-faced sandwich. Katie can't leave the Sunshine State without dessert and that means fried Cheesecake! On Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10pm ET/7pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered the third season of BEACH BITES WITH KATIE LEE. In the season opener, "The Gulf Coast of Mississippi," Katie Lee is on a mission to find the best beach food along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. The Biloxi Bay Bridge connects historic beach town Biloxi to Ocean Springs, an artistic community that's becoming a hot spot for eclectic, diverse restaurants, and Katie finds that there's great food waiting to be discovered from one end of the bridge to the other. She starts with seafood gumbo made with crab straight out of the local waters, fishes for one of her meals, and samples some soul food that's not your typical beach cuisine. Down-home barbecue is a must-have for food lovers in the South, so Katie digs into the best ribs below the Mason-Dixon Line. Chicory coffee, homemade buttery biscuits and refreshing ice pops round out a perfect culinary tour of the Mississippi coast.
