Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2001, Black Entertainment Television (BET) has honored superlative triumphs and successes of artists, entertainers and athletes in 20 categories, featuring performances by the biggest names in R&B, hip-hop and gospel.

On Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 8-11:30pm ET (live)/PT (tape) from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, BET presents the 2024 BET AWARDS, with a simulcast on BET Her, VH1, MTV, MTV2, Comedy Central, TV Land, Logo, Nickelodeon, and Pop. Taraji P. Henson returns on host. The events features performances by Childish Gambino, Chloe, Coco Jones, Keke Palmer, Marsha Ambrosius, Summer Walker, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Megan Thee Stallion, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Shaboozey, Tanner Adell, Tyla, Victoria Monet, YG Marley, and Will Smith, alongside presenters Andra Day, Colman Domingo, DC Young Fly, Devale Ellis, Jay Ellis, Jessica Betts, Ms. Pat, Niecy Nash-Betts, Saucy Santana and more.

Usher will be honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. The coveted award commemorates industry pioneers who have powerfully shifted culture and the entertainment industry.

The night opens at 6pm ET (live)/PT (tape) with "BET Awards 2024 Red Carpet Live!," hosted by Terrence J, with performances by Too $hort, Lil' Mo, Blxst & Bino Rideaux, Connie Diiamond, 4batz, Hunxho, Kalan.FrFr, Mariah The Scientist, October London, Remy Ma, Tee Grizzley, 310babii, and the legendary DJ Quik. Pretty Vee serves as a correspondent; Tank hosts the Style Stage, and Mouse Jones hosts the exclusive "BET Awards" live stream, while Jae Murphy is the Red Carpet DJ.

Drake is leading the pack with seven nominations this year. Nicki Minaj earned six nods. J. Cole, Sexyy Red, SZA and Victoria Monet each earned five nominations, while 21 Savage, Beyonce, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla and Usher have nods in four categories each.
