Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2001, Black Entertainment Television (BET) has honored superlative triumphs and successes of artists, entertainers and athletes in 20 categories, featuring performances by the biggest names in R&B, hip-hop and gospel. The 13th annual awards, hosted by actor and comedian Chris Tucker, were broadcast live on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 8pm ET (tape delay at 8pm PT) from Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. The 2013 awards show included performances by Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, R. Kelly, Nicki Minaj, Miguel, India.Arie, Ciara, Chris Brown, and Kendrick Lamar. Plus, Austin Brown and Curtis Fields took the stage during BET AWARDS '13 as part of the BET Music Matters program. This year, the Humanitarian Award went to Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade, while R&B singer/songwriter Charlie Wilson received the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award. The 14th Annual BET AWARDS, hosted by Chris Rock from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, aired live on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 8pm ET (live)/8pm PT (tape delay) on BET with a simulcast on Centric. THE BET AWARDS 2014 featured performances by Pharrell Williams, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Lionel Richie, T.I., Tyga, Iggy Azalea, Robin Thicke, Yolanda Adams, Ledisi, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Jhene Aiko and August Alsina. Plus, these celebs were scheduled to present: Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union, Keke Palmer, Regina Hall, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante, Larenz Tate, and more. THE BET AWARDS 2015, hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, featured Janet Jackson as recipient of the inaugural Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual award with Ciara, Jason Derulo and Tinashe slated to perform a special dance tribute to the iconic entertainer. The 17th annual event, hosted by Leslie Jones, included performances by Bruno Mars, Future, Migos, Trey Songz and Tamar Braxton, and more.
On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 8pm ET (live)/8pm PT (tape), BET broadcast the 2018 BET AWARDS live from the Microsoft Theater (fka Nokia Theatre) at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Hosted by Jamie Foxx, this year's event featured James Shaw Jr., Naomi Wadler, Mamoudou Gassama, Justin Blackman, Shaun King and Anthony Borges being honored as Humanitarian Heroes for doing extraordinary things in some of the most disheartening of situations. Featured performers include: Snoop Dogg, Ledisi, Marsha Ambrosius, Sly Pyper, Tye Tribbett, Nicki Minaj, Migos, Janelle Monae, H.E.R., Ella Mai, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, YG, Miguel, Jay Rock, Yolanda Adams and SiR. Plus, the following celebrities were set to present: John Legend, Tyra Banks, Terry Crews, Anderson.Paak, Lakeith Stanfield, T.I., Kevin Hart, LL COOL J, Chloe x Halle, Yvonne Orji, Bobby Brown, Trevor Jackson, Jason Mitchell, Mike Colter, Woody McClain, Jacob Latimore, Gabrielle Dennis, Tyler Perry, Regina Hall, Amandla Stenberg, Tika Sumpter and Omari Hardwick.
