Plot Synopsis

Set in 2002 -- six years before crooked strip-mall lawyer Saul Goodman meets Walter White -- this spinoff prequel focuses on Saul's life when he is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Jimmy's a legitimate lawyer, an underdog fighting to make a name for himself, but his moral compass and his ambition are often at war with each other. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is fixer Mike Ehrmantraut, a former cop from Philadelphia who took early retirement due to a series of dark events that he'd prefer to keep buried in the past. Then there's Jimmy's older brother Chuck, a brilliant man of high ideals, who is a name partner at one of Albuquerque's most prestigious law firms, where he works with go-to litigator Kim Wexler and law partner Howard Hamlin. In a June 19, 2014 press release, AMC confirmed that the initial order for BETTER CALL SAUL was two seasons and a total of 23 episodes, scheduled for February 2015 (10-episode Season 1) and early 2016 (13-episode Season 2). BETTER CALL SAUL will have a two-night television event for its premiere, debuting on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC with its second episode airing the next day, Monday, February 9 at 10pm ET/PT. BETTER CALL SAUL returned for its second season on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC, immediately following an all-day marathon (11:15am-10pm) of encore episodes of the entire first season. "Jimmy McGill's journey takes surprising, left-handed turns in Season 2. He goes to places we'd never, ever expected. As for Mike Ehrmantraut, he's pulled deeper into a world he was sure he'd left forever," said Peter Gould, executive producer and showrunner. "We can't wait to share the next chapter of BETTER CALL SAUL with the fans who have embraced the show." In the season opener, "Switch," Mike feels it is best to sever his affiliation with an unrestrained associate. Season 3 of BETTER CALL SAUL premiered on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on AMC, immediately following a 10.5-hour marathon (11:30am-10pm) of encore episodes from the entire second season. Season 2 ended with a pair of cliffhangers. Determined to prevent his brother from practicing law, Chuck staged an elaborate con, secretly recording Jimmy's confession to a felony. When Mike set his sights on sociopathic cartel boss Hector Salamanca, an ominous intervention stopped him from pulling the trigger, raising questions as to what other dangerous players may be in the game. As the new season begins, the repercussions of Chuck's scheme test Jimmy and Kim's fledgling law practices -- and their romance -- as never before. This imminent existential threat presses Jimmy's faltering moral compass to the limit. Meanwhile, Mike searches for a mysterious adversary who seems to know almost everything about his business. As the season progresses, new characters are introduced and backstories are further illuminated with meaningful nods to the BREAKING BAD universe. In the season opener, "Mabel," Jimmy and Chuck's relationship deteriorates, Kim feels the pressure of running her own firm, and Mike investigates the note left on his car.
On Tuesday, January 16, 2018 Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released BETTER CAUL SAUL Season 3 on Blu-ray and DVD. Pull out your space blankets and grab a bucket of Los Pollos Hermanos chicken! In the critically acclaimed third season, Jimmy McGill's faltering moral compass is strained when he learns of the vengeful campaign Chuck has mounted against him -- threatening to damage the brothers' relationship irrevocably. The DVD (all ten episodes) is packed with outstanding special features that includes cast & crew commentaries on every episode, a gag reel, "Los Pollos Hermanos Employee Training" videos and two featurettes: "Gene of Omaha," which dives deeper into Jimmy's alter ego Gene, and "In Conversation: Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Rhea Seehorn," an uncensored discussion between the actors about their favorite moments from season three and their hopes for the future of the series.
