Plot Synopsis

BEYOND THE HEADLINES is a series of one-hour documentaries that feature a subject of a Lifetime Original Movie, usually scheduled so that the companion documentary premieres immediately after the debut of the TV movie. Initially focusing on crime dramas, BEYOND THE HEADLINES chronicled the lives of the Craigslist Killer, Amanda Knox, Jodi Arias, and many more criminals and victims. More recently, BEYOND THE HEADLINES has expanded its reach, documenting the life of Donatella Versace after Lifetime aired HOUSE OF VERSACE.

On Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT, Lifetime premiered the TV movie BLACK GIRL MISSING, immediately followed at 10pm by the debut of "Beyond the Headlines: Black Girl Missing," the latest installment of BEYOND THE HEADLINES. This one-hour special chronicles two terrifying stories of young black women who go missing and the families who battle a system stacked against them. With the help of the Black and Missing Foundation, will they bring their daughters home?
