Plot Synopsis

Each half-hour episode of BIG BEACH RENO is filled with highlights from one episode of BEACHFRONT BARGAIN HUNT: RENOVATION, a 60-minute series that follows families who achieved their dreams of buying an affordable vacation home and then turned it into the relaxing oasis they envisioned when they purchased it. On Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 7-8pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered back-to-back episodes of BIG BEACH RENO, but the cable channel had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. In the first episode (7pm), "Gut Job in Gulf Shores, Alabama," a married couple has always loved vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and is ready to make this coastal paradise their forever home. On the hunt for a bargain, the couple thinks that they have found the perfect place, but it needs some big-time renovations. With a tight budget and a long list of projects, they hope no unexpected curve balls force their renovations over budget. Then, in the night's second episode (7:30pm), "Getting Set in Narragansett, Rhode Island," after many years of renting vacation homes in Narragansett, Rhode Island, a couple is ready to escape their busy schedules and buy a place of their own. They find a house at the right price with promise, but it needs a lot of work. Luckily, Chris is a general contractor and ready to take on the challenge. However, a tight budget and long list of reno projects that need to get done threatens the completion of their dream vacation oasis.
