Plot Synopsis

Based on the 2014 feature film of the same name, BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES picks up immediately following the events of the movie, continuing the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. Along with their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred, they form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6 and embark on high-tech adventures as they protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains. In his normal day-to-day life, Hiro faces daunting academic challenges and social trials as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES launched with "Baymax Returns," a one-hour TV movie on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT on Disney XD, with a simulcast on Disney Channel. After Hiro believes that his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax is lost in the portal forever, he discovers the chip his brother Tadashi designed to create Baymax. Fourteen-year-old tech genius Hiro begins school as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and sets off to rebuild Baymax, but his overconfidence and penchant for taking shortcuts leads him and the newly minted Big Hero 6 team -- Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred -- into trouble. The series will officially debut in 2018 on Disney XD. Reprising their roles from the feature film are Maya Rudolph as Aunt Cass, Ryan Potter as Hiro, Scott Adsit as Baymax, Jamie Chung as Go Go, Alan Tudyk as Alistair Krei, Genesis Rodriguez as Honey Lemon, David Shaughnessy as Heathcliff and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee as Fred's dad.

Season 2 of BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES premiered on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 3:30-4pm ET/PT on Disney Channel. New episodes continue to roll out weekdays through May 17, and episodes are also be available the same day on DisneyNOW. Season 2 guest voice cast includes Nestor Carbonell as Chief Cruz, San Fransokyo's new police chief; Isabella Gomez as Hiro's new friend Megan; Ben Feldman as Chris, Liv Amara's assistant; Will Friedle as Ian, Krei's geeky scientist; Jane Lynch and Timothy Simons as Supersonic Sue and Supersonic Stu, a grandmother/grandson super villain duo; Jessica Pare as acrobatic thief Sirque; and Horatio Sanz as El Fuego, a Mexican wrestler. In the season opener, "Internabout," Hiro's jealousy of Karmi's internship at Sycorax leads him to intern at Krei Tech. Ben Feldman guest stars as Chris, Liv Amara's assistant.

Season 3 of BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES premiered on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 7:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD. Each episode of the new season will feature two 11-minute stories and follow the Big Hero 6 team as they face off against Noodle Burger Boy and his team of evil mascot robots in order to protect San Fransokyo. Season 3 guest voices include K-pop stars Nichkhun Horvejkul as twins Kei and Aki, one-half of boy band 4 2 Sing, and Jae Park as twins Taka and Yuka, the other half of boy band 4 2 Sing; Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Cobra, a charming and crafty villain; and Nichole Bloom as Olivia, a passionate comic book fan. In the season opener, "The Hyper-potamus Pizza-Party-torium," Hiro and a short-handed Big Hero 6 team attempt to stop Noodle Burger Boy and his new family.

On Monday, February 15, 2021 at 7:30pm ET/PT, Disney XD premiered "Krei-oke Night; The Mascot Upshot," the series finale of BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES, immediately following an all-day marathon (3am-7:30pm) of encore episodes. Krei enlists Big Hero 6 to help launch his latest invention: a karaoke machine he calls Kreioke; Hiro plans to defeat The Mascots once and for all.
