Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by series star Don Cheadle, BLACK MONDAY is a half-hour comedy series that takes viewers back to October 19, 1987 (aka Black Monday), the worst stock market crash in Wall Street history. To this day, no one knows who caused it -- until now. It's all happening at The Jammer Group, a ragtag Wall Street firm headed by Maurice 'Mo' Monroe, who leads his team of misfit traders, including no-nonsense Dawn, eager-to-please Keith, wild man Wayne, and hotshot Yassir. Into this motley mix walks Blair Pfaff, a young wide-eyed trader who gets in way over his head. Together, they take on the moneyed, blueblood, old-boys club of New York finance and end up unwittingly crashing a Lamborghini limousine, the glass ceiling and the world's largest financial system in this scathing comic commentary on 1980s excess. In the series opener, "365" (written by Jordan Cahan & David Caspe; directed by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg), wide-eyed Blair is thrust into the insane world of '80s Wall Street. Mo enacts his master plan to take over the Georgina Jeans Company. Guest stars for Season 1 include: Bruce Dern as legendary trader Rod, Melissa Rauch as Keith's loving wife Shira and Kadeem Hardison as Dawn's husband Spencer, with Vanessa Bell Calloway and Tim Russ as Daw's artist mother Ruth and professor father Walter. Julie Hagerty and Phil Reeves are heads of a designer denim empire and Jason Michael Snow plays Mike, a Broadway actor.

The sophomore season of BLACK MONDAY premiered on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 10-11pm ET/PT, as Showtime debuted back-to-back new episodes. This season focuses on the aftermath of the 1987 stock market crash: Dawn and Blair are the bosses now, quickly learning that heavy is the head that wears the crown, especially when that head is constantly looking over its shoulder for Mo, who's on the run with Keith. Who will go down for the crash? Who will go down for the murders? Who will go down for fleecing Mo? Season 2 guest stars include: Tuc Watkins as Congressman Harris, a leading voice of the moral majority; June Diane Raphael as his ultra-conservative wife, Corkie; Dule Hill as Marcus Wainwright III, president of the African-American Scholarship Fund; and Patrick Fabian as New York Governor Putnam. Recurring guest stars include Yassir Lester, Ken Marino, Horatio Sanz, and Casey Wilson. After a 2.5-month break, BLACK MONDAY returned with new episodes on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT on Showtime. In the summer premiere, "Who Are You Supposed To Be?," at a Halloween party, Blair tries to make the trade of a lifetime, Mo and Dawn argue over an opportunity, Tiff and Corkie loosen up, and Keith phones a friend.

Season 3 of BLACK MONDAY premiered on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT on Showtime. At the end of Season 2, Dawn took the hit for Black Monday, and Mo reigned supreme as head of the newly minted The Mo Co. What lies in store for him, his band of underdogs and his enemies all plays out in the 10-episode new season. In the season opener, "TEN!," it's 1989 and Mo makes his first big "discovery" as a newly minted jazz producer. Dawn's still serving time for masterminding Black Monday, Blair learns the hard way how to play politics, and Keith discovers that the late Lenny Leighman has some big follicles to fill. Mo hatches a plot to get Dawn an early release.

On Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT, Showtime premiered "ONE!," the Season 3 finale of BLACK MONDAY. New Year's Eve 1989. It's Mo's "wedding day," but priority number one is to make sure he and his crew live to see another decade. He and Dawn, Blair, Keith and Yassir work together to do whatever it takes to make sure that happens.
