Plot Synopsis

BLACK OPS is a one-hour documentary series that reveals how elite special operations units in different countries, including units like SEAL Team 6, Spetsnaz, the Black Cats and the SAS, carry out their high-risk/zero-recognition assignments, while sharing the inside story of some of the most dramatic military actions in recent history. Each 60-minute episode features a different mission or incident, including: "City Under Siege," which chronicles a three-day rampage of death and destruction in November 2008 in Mumbai, India's largest city, for which only one Special Force has the know-how and training to take down the terrorists; "Night of Terror," which documents Russia's elite force, Spetnaz Group Alfa, that was tasked with rescuing 800 people held hostage by Chechen gunmen and suicide bombers inside a Moscow theatre in October 2002; and many more stories in which special forces save innocent lives that hang in the balance.

On Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, AHC: American Heroes Channel (formerly known as Military Channel) broadcast the Season 2 premiere of BLACK OPS. The season opener, "The Real Black Hawk Down," chronicled a routine Special Forces mission that turned into a battle for survival after an American helicopter was shot down in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 -- and the ensuing firefight became one of the bloodiest days for the US Army since the Vietnam War.
