Plot Synopsis

Based on Sunil Gupta and Sunetra Choudhury's 2019 non-fiction book, "Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer," BLACK WARRANT is a seven-episode prison drama series that plunges into the mayhem of Tihar Jail, as seen through the eyes of rookie jailer Sunil Gupta. Sunil steps unwittingly into the jaws of a system where power and reputation reign supreme and survival demands a price. Alongside him, his two trusted fellow jailers confront Tihar's notorious inmates and the entrenched politics. Armed with little more than grit and determination, the trio faces towering challenges within Tihar. This never-seen-before account traces the deeply personal stories of inmates, officers, and their complex dynamics. Will they be able to challenge the system and bring change for the better, or will Tihar change them? All seven episodes of BLACK WARRANT dropped on Friday, January 10, 2025 on Netflix.
