Plot Synopsis

Created and executive produced by Emily Spivey, BLESS THE HARTS is a half-hour animated comedy series that follows the Harts, a Southern family that is forever struggling to make ends meet, but have everything they need. They one day hope to achieve the American dream, but they're already rich -- in friends, family and laughter. In the series premiere, Jenny discovers her mother, Betty, has a secret that may help her pay off the family's overdue bills. Meanwhile, Wayne, Jenny's boyfriend, is hurt when he discovers that Jenny's daughter, Violet, is featuring her biological father in her comics. Wayne is determined to show how much he cares about Violet by building her the treehouse of her dreams. In the second episode, when money gets tight, Jenny takes on an undesirable second job to help fund Violet's art school tuition. Meanwhile, Wayne comes up with an entirely different plan to make money.
After a one-month break, BLESS THE HARTS returned for its season finale on Sunday, January 12, 2020 live in all time zones at 10:30pm ET/7:30pm PT. In the season ender, "Tying the Not," in order to prove that she's not afraid of marriage, Jenny decides to take things to the next level with Wayne. Meanwhile, Betty attempts to expose Crystalynn (guest voice Mary Steenburgen) as a liar after seeing her claim to have encountered a strangler on a popular crime show. Additional guest voices: Fortune Feimster as Brenda; Emily Spivey as Louise; Jeremy Rowley as Jimmy Lee; Drew Tarver as Charles Lee/Grits Box Strangler; Michelle Buteau as Linda; Kevin Michael Richardson as Announcer/Guard; Ike Barinholtz as Preacher; Maya Rudolph as Dr. Chakrabarti; Jillian Bell as Harpist.
