Plot Synopsis

Hosted by pop-science YouTuber Nick Uhas, with resident evaluator and glass master Katherine Gray joined by a guest judge, BLOWN AWAY is a competition reality series that features 10 master artists who turn up the heat in glassblowing sculpture challenges for the chance to win $60,000 in prizes. The Corning Museum of Glass plays a crucial role in this series, with the museum's senior manager, Eric Meek, appearing as a guest evaluator in the finale, where six museum workers -- Brian Juk, Catherine Ayers, Chris Rochelle, George Kennard, Helen Tegeler, and Tom Ryder -- help the final two contestants in the last challenge. Additional guest judges include: Chris Taylor (Pilchuck Glass School); Marc Lepine (Gastronomy chef); Jay MacDonell (Lighting designer); Jesse Hirsch (Futurist); Emily Pearce-Bibona (International wine judge and sommelier); Perry Tung (Bonhams Auction House); Catherine Osborne (Architecture & design expert); Janet Morrison (Sheridan College); and Greta Hodgkinson (National Ballet of Canada). The 10 artists are: Deborah Czeresko (Veteran glass artist based in New York City); Kevin Kiff (California-based glass artist); Benjamin Kikkert (Vancouver-based glass artist); Leah Kudel (Canadian glass artist); Janusz Pozniak (British born, Seattle-based glass artist); Patrick Proimeau (Canadian glass artist and glass studio operator); Alexander Rosenberg (Philadelphia-based artist, educator, and writer); Momoko 'Momo' Schafer (Recent graduate of MassArt); Annette Sheppard (Former CMoG glass artist and current management consultant); and Edgar Valentine (Tacoma-based glass artist). BLOWN AWAY made its U.S. debut on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire 10-episode first season.

BLOWN AWAY returned for its 10-episode second season on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire new season, featuring a new batch of glass-blowing artists from around the world battling the heat, the clock and each other in ten challenges. In the season opener, "Mirror, Mirror," the competitors look to mirrors for inspiration, creating deeply personal pieces that express how they see themselves. The ten Season 2 contestants are: Andi Kovel, Ben Silver, Brad Turner, Cat Burns, Chris Taylor, Eliot Walker, Jason McDonald, Mike Shelbo, Nao Yamamoto, and Tegan Hamilton. Guest judges include Season 1 cast member Alexander Rosenberg, Season 1 winner Deborah Czeresko, QUEER EYE's Bobby Berk, NFL player Stephen Weatherly, and more.

The entire 10-episode third season of BLOWN AWAY dropped on Friday, July 22, 2022 on Netflix. The hot shop welcomes 10 talented new glassblowers for challenges inspired by outer space, the circus, the Seven Deadly Sins and more. In each episode, the glassblowers must impress the Evaluators or risk being eliminated. At stake is a life changing prize that will send their careers to new heights. Host Nick Uhas and Resident Evaluator and Glass Master Katherine Gray return for Season 3.
