Plot Synopsis

Created, written, and produced by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay, BOOKIE is a dark comedy series that follows veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny as the potential legalization of sports gambling in California threatens to upend his business for good. Alongside best friend and former NFL player Ray, side-hustling sister Lorraine, and reluctantly reformed drug dealer Hector, Danny must contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts -- all while making plenty of risky bets of his own. Full of relatable mishaps, Bookie chronicles one man's journey to adapt to an ever-changing world as he attempts to charm and con his way to the top. BOOKIE premiered on Thursday, November 30, 2023 with two episodes on Max. Two more episodes dropped each Thursday through December 21.

Season 2 of BOOKIE debuted on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Max, which released the first episode. A new installment premieres weekly on Thursdays through January 30, 2025. Veteran Los Angeles bookie Danny continues to contend with his increasingly unstable clients as he tries to settle their debts. Guest stars this season include Charlie Sheen, Ray Romano, Zach Braff, and Brad Garrett.
