Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour reality series hosted and executive produced by Donovan Leitch of Royal Machines, six emerging musicians are each paired with one rock legend, who provides guidance to help the up and comers work to achieve their dreams of stardom. Mentors Dave Navarro, Moby, Sebastian Bach, Robin Zander, Belinda Carlisle, and Mark McGrath share invaluable advice and collaborate with their proteges before deciding whether to join them on stage for a live performance at YouTube Space LA. Each 30-minute episode features a different mentor/protege pair, including: alt-rock guitarist Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction/Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and Seattle-based YouTube sensation Andie Case; electronic music icon Moby and Los Angeles-based electro-pop artist Runaground; metal icon Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) and Finnish metal band Santa Cruz; Cheap Trick lead singer Robin Zander and New York rockers Set the Charge; the Go-Go's lead singer Belinda Carlisle and Minneapolis-based all-girl rock band Sick of Sarah; and pop punk singer Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray) and Los Angeles-based reggae rockers Stick Figure.

On Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 9:30pm ET/6:30pm PT, AXS TV premiered the season finale of BREAKING BAND. In the season ender, pop punk singer Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray) plays the role of mentor, as he is paired with up and coming band Stick Figure. Mark shares advice and support before the band makes their live broadcast premiere from the El Rey in Los Angeles.
