Plot Synopsis

The life of career criminal Gunter Vogler takes an unexpected turn when, after a botched jewel heist, he awakens in a hospital with a new face and a new job -- working undercover for the cops, with reluctant new partner Lt. Hagerman, to help them take down the city's crime lords, Tannhauser and Racken. Armed with a new identity and a badge, Gunter proves more dangerous as a lawman than he ever was as the neighborhood sociopath. But Gunter's life of sin proves unexpectedly useful, uncovering a conspiracy leading him one step closer to tracking down the illusive mob leader that betrayed him, Johann Tannhauser, as well as Martine, the woman he loved and lost. When Gunter is reunited with Martine, he discovers she's now the consort of gangland leader Racken. And as the ongoing mob war between Tannhauser and Racken escalates into a raging firestorm that drags the entire city toward an apocalyptic conclusion, Gunter fights through the maze of past rivalries, deceptions and betrayals to get what he wants most in life.
