Plot Synopsis

Buddy Valastro is the master baker of Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. In other words, he's the cake boss. He supervises a team that includes his mother, four older sisters and three brothers-in-law, and his big Italian family works together to achieve his late father's dream of making Carlo's Bake Shop a household name. By "uniting old-world recipes with modern techniques," Buddy creates spectacular cakes for the biggest occassions -- Britney Spears' circus-themed 27th birthday cake; a feature for Brides Magazine; and his winning work on the Battle of the Brides episode of "Food Network Challenge." Following a marathon of repeat episodes from Noon-9pm ET, TLC debuted Season 6 of CAKE BOSS at 9pm ET on Monday, May 27, 2013, showing back-to-back new episodes featuring the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and a cake for GOOD MORNING AMERICA's Robin Roberts. Buddy Valastro and his family returned for a seventh season of CAKE BOSS, bringing their business back to its true roots -- cakes and family -- starting with a live two-hour event on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 8-10pm ET (live)/PT (tape), immediately following an all-day marathon (6am-8pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "LIVE: All in the Famiglia," Buddy kicks off a new season of CAKE BOSS alongside Lisa Arch of LABOR GAMES, live from Carlo's Bakery. The live event features three never-before-seen episodes, fun with Buddy's Famiglia, and chances to win Cake Boss cakes for a full year. Throughout the new season, Buddy and his cake team -- including his four sisters, two brothers-in-law, cousins and the family matriarch, Momma -- whip up some of the most delicious creations yet. With more responsibilities than ever, the Valastros feel the heat as they work side-by-side to satisfy customers, special guest stars and celebrities from around the world including a special cake for Academy Award winners Common and John Legend. Buddy and his team are tasked with creating some of the wildest cakes imaginable, including a "meat" covered cake that has the team visiting the butcher shop, and a naked cake that has Buddy questioning the controversial trend. From old-school birthday cakes for his son, to a commemorative cake for Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday, Buddy and the team have their hands full. Season 8 of CAKE BOSS premiered on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 9-10pm ET/PT on TLC. Buddy's imagination works in over-drive this season as the exciting cake ideas from his consultations become a reality. In fact, his quest to achieve his late father's dream of making Carlo's Bakery a household name guarantees that viewers see Buddy in some of his most surprising situations yet. A legendary sand castle cake, a motorcycle jacket cake, a life-size grand piano cake and a one-of-a-kind Oktoberfest beer cake are just some of the wild creations to come out of CAKE BOSS this season. Some iconic clients also make an appearance, including the New York Botanical Gardens and the President of Germany. In the season opener, "Pirates and Pastries; Sand Castles and Seeing Double," it's all hands on deck when Buddy and the team create a pirate themed cake. Buddy and the family get ready to open a new bakery in Connecticut, but opening Carlo's Sweet Room is a lot more complicated than everyone expects. On Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 8pm ET/PT, TLC premiered a new season of CAKE BOSS. The season opener, "Farewell to Momma Mary," reflects on the life of Momma Mary and the legacy she left behind. While the family grieves, they also celebrate the triumphant life that she lead. Hundreds of family members and friends join to celebrate and reflect on the incredible life of Momma. The 10-episode season was previously available on TLC GO on Friday, August 18 with an additional five episodes on Friday, August 25.
