Plot Synopsis

Based on the musical segment on THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN, CARPOOL KARAOKE features many of today's biggest names in music, television, film, sports and pop culture buckling up and belting out their favorite songs for a road trip filled with comedy, conversation and music. Each Tuesday, the series welcomes a different group of celebrities, including these pairings: Will Smith and James Corden; Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family; Shakira and Trevor Noah; Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams; Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith; John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson; LeBron James and James Corden; and many more. Corden hosts the series premiere and the Season 1 finale, but not other episodes, which feature guest hosts like Chelsea Handler and Trevor Noah. Episodes are approximately twice as long as THE LATE LATE SHOW segments, allowing more time for intimate conversations, additional music, and wacky adventures. For the 20-episode first season, Apple Music releases new episodes each Tuesday at 9pm ET/6pm PT, with two episodes dropping each day -- except for the series opener and season finale, which are released by themselves.
CBS presents CARPOOL KARAOKE: WHEN CORDEN MET MCCARTNEY LIVE FROM LIVERPOOL on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 8-9pm ET/PT. The one-hour primetime special features never-before-seen footage from the "Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke" segment, which aired on THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN on June 21, during the week of shows from Central Hall Westminster in London. During the "Carpool Karaoke" segment, Corden and McCartney drove around Liverpool, visited McCartney's childhood home and several of the places referenced in the song "Penny Lane," and surprised locals with an intimate performance at a pub. The "Paul McCartney Carpool Karaoke" has nearly 130 million digital views across Facebook and YouTube. It is the most-watched late night video on Facebook Watch.
