Plot Synopsis

An anthology series set in the Stephen King multiverse, CASTLE ROCK is a psychological-horror series that weaves an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. Executive produced by J.J. Abrams and King, CASTLE ROCK is an original suspense/thriller -- a first-of-its-kind reimagining that unites King's themes and worlds, and brings together the author's most iconic and beloved characters.

Season 1 opens with an anonymous phone call that lures death-row attorney Henry Deaver back to his home town of Castle Rock, Maine. Soon after, Henry gets a new client at Shawshank Prison, and the past catches up with Molly Strand. On Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Hulu released the first three episodes of this series.

In the 10-episode second season, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King's nurse from hell, gets waylaid in Castle Rock. Other characters include: Pop, the Patriarch of Stephen King's iconic crime family, who is dying of cancer and at a reckoning with his family; Ace, Castle Rock's legendary bully, who is taking over his uncle Pop's businesses and threatening a fragile peace with nearby Jerusalem's Lot; Dr. Nadia Howlwadaag, the Harvard-trained Somali medical director of a rural hospital in Jerusalem's Lot, whose rational and scientific mind will be put to the test; Abdi, the tough, older brother of Nadia, who leads the charge to build a Somali community center that will deepen the roots of his people in Maine; Joy, Annie's home-schooled teenage daughter, who is starting to have questions about her mother's sanity; Chris, who is Pop's nephew and Ace's brother, and is struggling to keep peace between the Merrills and the Somali community. Hulu released the first three episodes on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, with a new episode to debut on subsequent Wednesdays through December 11.
