Plot Synopsis
The Cat in the Hat takes two six-year-old best friends Sally & Nick around the world in his Thinga-ma-jigger on science expeditions -- with a little help from the Fish, Thing 1 and Thing 2. On these trips, they make natural-science discoveries such as: learning how bees make honey when they visit Queen Priscilla Buzzoo and join her in a bee dance; studying why owls sleep during the day. The goal of the program is to introduce preschoolers to scientific inquiry skills, while teaching core science concepts and vocabulary, so that children are prepared for the kindergarten and first-grade science curriculum. PBS aired the U.S. series premiere on September 6, 2010.
