Plot Synopsis

Host and master carpenter Adam Carolla and his team -- expert contractor Skip Bedell and his wife, private investigator Alison Bedell -- track down evasive contractors and drag them back to the scene of the crime to fix the disasters they left behind. Initially, Carolla and Skip assess the property in question and identify all the corners that were cut. Alison then hunts down these unscrupulous builders through various investigative methods, a task not easily done as most have changed their contact information to avoid being found. Once the contractor is located, he is artfully lured to a sting house by Alison with the promise of a new job, only to be taken by surprise and confronted by Carolla, Skip and the angry homeowners. Carolla and Skip call the contractor out on everything that wasn't done properly, sharing their extensive insight and knowledge of the craft. The contractors are then given the chance to redeem themselves by fixing the mess they left behind - all while under Carolla and Skip's watchful and critical eye. In each episode of CATCH A CONTRACTOR, Carolla, Skip and Alison help a different family, including: a family that must sleep on the living room floor after contractor Jose ripped their home apart and split; homeowners that are sick after contractor Avi left open sewer pipes, causing insect infestations; and many more people with homes left in shambles by shady contractors. CATCH A CONTRACTOR returned for its 10-episode second season on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on Spike, with one-hour episodes, up from the 30-minute episodes in the first season. In the Season 2 premiere, "Take the Money and Done," Adam and Skip go after one of the most deceitful contractors ever: a family friend who agreed to expand their kitchen, but took their money and ran. On Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, Spike TV premiered the third season of CATCH A CONTRACTOR. This season not only sets out to aid 10 new families in grim living circumstances, but also gives viewers a never-before-seen glimpse behind the scenes of the tense sting operations and the meticulous coordination needed to nab these deceitful conmen. The season premiere features a grandmother who is left without a single working toilet and in danger of an electrical fire when she entrusts her savings to her daughter's friend, who agrees to redo her bathrooms in order to accommodate her 14 grandchildren. Months later, not only does this grandmother have to drive miles away to use the restroom in a local church, but there is a deep rift in the family due to this shady contractor.
