Plot Synopsis

Since 2014, the CELEBRATION OF BLACK CINEMA & TELEVISION has honored standout achievements in Black filmmaking, and the event began celebrating achievements in television with its fourth annual ceremony in December 2021. Recipients of the Career Achievement Award include: Eddie Murphy (2019 Dec), Delroy Lindo (2021 Feb), and Halle Berry (2021 Dec).

Hosted by Niecy Nash, the fourth annual CELEBRATION OF BLACK CINEMA & TELEVISION took place on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to featuring 16 award categories, the ceremony honored Ava DuVernay, who received the first-ever Melvin Van Peebles Trailblazer Award and Halle Berry (Career Achievement Award). The event was televised on Saturday, January 22, 2022 on select stations, including KTLA in Los Angeles.
