Plot Synopsis

CHAINSAW GANG is a reality series that follows chainsaw artist Stacy Poitras and the rest of the crew at his Malibu-based company, Deadwood Tree Sculptures, where they carve mind-blowing statues that sell for tens of thousands of dollars, take part in national competitions, and generally agitate each other while having fun. Each 30-minute episode features a different job or event, including: a life-sized, 16-foot-tall replica of Michelangelo's David, which Stacy carves on an impossible deadline at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, CA; a deceased German Shepherd for a couple who hires fellow sculptor Rio DeJarnett instead of Stacy -- but that doesn't stop Stacy from carving it anyways and letting the client to decide between two options; a trip to the U.S. Open Chainsaw Carving Championship in Eau Claire, WI, after Stacy is invited to compete; and many more projects that keep their blades breaking and chain saws bursting. The crew includes: Stacy, who studied at the prestigious school of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and has been perfecting his art for the last 25 years; sales rep Matt Clementson, who often feels unappreciated -- and may be so frustrated that he even looks for a new job; fellow sculptor Rio, a self-taught saw carver and former contractor, who was first inspired by Stacy and started his own carving projects in late 2000; Steele Savokinas, who enjoys dirtbiking, hiking and camping and has a brother-like relationship with Matt; and Alison Eastwood, Stacy's girlfriend of three years, who is an actress and animal activist.
