Plot Synopsis

In this reboot of CHARMED, three sisters in a college town are stunned to discover they are witches after the tragic death of their mother. Soon this powerful threesome must stand together to fight the everyday and supernatural battles that all modern witches must face: from vanquishing powerful demons to toppling the patriarchy. "Stronger together." That's what Marisol tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie 'Mel' Vera, and her sister, fun-loving Maggie, about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the women's studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering sorority rush (to Mel's amused dismay) and going 'on' again with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, Brian. But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it? Three months later, Mel is unable to accept the official explanation of their mother's death, while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister -- brilliant geneticist Macy, whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesn't know a soul (except for Galvin, the cute fellow scientist who's been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel can't handle another shock, and shuts her out. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others' thoughts, and Macy has telekinetic powers. But don't worry, there's a perfectly reasonable explanation...or so says Harry Greenwood -- who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the women's studies department -- when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal they're actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And he's not really a professor, he's their "Whitelighter," a witch's advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mother's death was no accident -- she was murdered by unknown dark forces. It's a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as The Charmed Ones...and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us...one of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together...even if they have no idea what they're really up against.

CHARMED returned for its second season on October 11, 2019 on The CW, moving to a new night and time: Fridays at 8pm ET/PT. In the season premiere, "Safe Space," following the devastating loss of The Elders, Mel, Maggie and Macy take over their duties. Maggie takes time to celebrate her birthday with a big bash, but Mel finds herself too preoccupied with their new responsibilities to join in the fun. As the girls clean up the following morning, Macy shocks her sisters with an announcement. A mysterious hooded foe attacks The Charmed Ones who escape through a portal while Harry has an unnerving encounter with the villain. The girls land in a secret location where they uncover more about the mystical world of The Elders... and community workspaces. Macy nurses a serious wound and Maggie meets a handsome stranger. The Charmed Ones quickly become aware of the gravity of their new roles and must decide if they are truly prepared for the responsibility. Stuart Gillard directed the episode written by Liz Kruger and Craig Shapiro. On Friday, January 17, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT, The CW debuted "Guess Who's Coming to SafeSpace Seattle," the winter premiere of CHARMED. Maggie and Mel make a startling discovery that turns their world upside down; Macy's chance encounter with a SafeSpace investor (guest star Eric Balfour) takes an unexpected turn.

The third season of CHARMED premiered on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. In Season 3, the Charmed Ones along with their whitelighter Harry continue their battle with The Faction -- a cabal of humans trying to steal magic for themselves, led by billionaire Julian Shea (guest star Eric Balfour). Following an epic standoff, the series joins The Charmed Ones as they are forced to try and save the magical world from extinction and navigate a mysterious magical allergy. As the sisters are challenged in new ways romantically, personally and professionally, they face down monsters in both the magical and human world -- the likes of which they have never seen. In the season opener, "An Inconvenient Truth," The Charmed Ones' lives are in jeopardy as The Faction closes in. Macy and Harry struggle to define their relationship. Stuart Gillard directed the episode written by Natalia Fernandez.

Season 4 of CHARMED premiered on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW. In the new season, Mel and Maggie find their lives transformed by the death of their beloved sister, Macy. But when their grief threatens to undo the Power of Three forever, the surprising arrival of a third Charmed One gives them a renewed opportunity to fulfill their destinies. And this couldn't come at a better time, because a mysterious new enemy is rising in the shadows, instilling fear in every corner of the magical world. But as this new foe draws the Charmed Ones and their allies Harry and Jordan deeper into a twisted game, the question is -- will this new trio be ready for what's to come? Or will their inexperience working together put the entire world in jeopardy? In the season opener, "Not That Girl," Mel and Maggie are learning to navigate life without their sister Macy -- Mel distracts herself with new flings at magical hotspot, the Blue Camellia bar, while Maggie is taking on more than her share of demon hunting. Meanwhile, Harry is struggling, mourning his lost love, and Jordan has teamed up with Maggie while navigating his newfound magical powers. Across the country in Philadelphia, an unsuspecting young woman...is living her life...mechanic by day, muralist by night...when she's suddenly thrust into a new world, coming face to face with the women she's inexplicably seen in her dreams. Just as Mel, Maggie and Harry are uncovering information about this mysterious new person, Josefina (guest star Mareya Salazar) goes missing on her way to a pixie-pledging ceremony, and Mel and Maggie must rely on their "new third" to help their cousin...and find out if she is indeed the other Charmed One that they were told was "out there somewhere."
