Plot Synopsis

THE CHEF SHOW is a half-hour docuseries that follows actor/director Jon Favreau and award-winning Chef Roy Choi, who reunite after their film CHEF and embark on a culinary journey to learn, to share and celebrate different flavors, cultures and people. The two friends experiment with their favorite recipes and techniques, baking, cooking, exploring and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the entertainment and culinary world. From sharing a meal with the Avengers cast in Atlanta, to smoking brisket in Texas with world-renowned pitmaster Aaron Franklin, to honoring the legendary food critic Jonathan Gold in Los Angeles - Favreau and Choi embrace their passion for food, but more importantly their love for bringing people together over a delicious meal. Guests include: Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Burr, Robert Downey Jr, Tom Holland, Kevin Feige, and the Russo brothers, Andrew Rea, Evan Kleiman, Jazz Singsanong, Robert Rodriguez, David Chang, Aaron Franklin and many more. On Friday, June 7, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released the eight-episode first season of THE CHEF SHOW, which is executive produced by Choi and Favreau.

Netflix released Season 1, Volume 2 of THE CHEF SHOW on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. Roy and Jon are back for another six episodes, as they pick right up where they left off in Volume 1 -- with more episodes of the duo talking about food, cooking food, and most importantly, eating food. In the season opener, Seth Rogen knows how to break down chickens, so Jon and Roy put him to work as they prep two distinct chicken dishes. Other guests in Volume 2 include: Chef Daniele Uditi at LA's Pizzana; Chef Wes Avila at Guerrilla Tacos; Dave Filoni; and Andrew Rea & David Chang.

On Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Netflix released Season 1, Volume 3 of THE CHEF SHOW. In the first of six new episodes, Jon and Roy visit chef Wolfgang Puck at his Las Vegas steakhouse CUT to test Jon's omelet-making skills and prepare some incredible cuts of meat. In subsequent episodes, Jon and Roy visit: Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger at Border Grill in Vegas; Roy's Vegas restaurant, Best Friend; with director Sam Raimi, who is invited into the kitchen to bake sourdough and Southern biscuits; Micah Wexler and Michael Kasser of Wexler's Deli; and Pizzana chef Daniele Uditi and Sprinkles founder Candace Nelson in a episode where Jon and Roy revisit recipes.

Season 2, Volume 1 premiered on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released five new episodes. Jon Favreau takes a breather from directing blockbusters to link up with Chef Roy Choi to explore more amazing food and the talented cooks behind it. In the first episode, "Milk Bar Bake Sale," chef Christina Tosi at Milk Bar in LA teaches Jon and Roy how to "take back the bake sale" with her elevated preparations of cookies, pies, and cakes. In later episodes: Roy teaches Jon his unique preparations for a selection of Italian dishes; Chef Jessica Largey welcomes Roy and Jon to help cook up her unique takes; Chefs Chad Robertson and Chris Bianco take Jon and Roy through their intricate processes for artisan bread baking, fermentation and coffee roasting; and Roy and Jon re-create Holeman and Finch's late-night burger, then sample Chad Robertson's take on a grilled cheese and a delicious dessert by Nina Subhas.
