Plot Synopsis

CHINA, IL is an animated comedy that goes inside the halls of The University of China - Illinois, where the professors and dean bring the crazy to their classrooms of their eager students. Frank and Steve Smith (a.k.a. The Professor Brothers) are siblings who teach in the history department, and since they're legends in their own minds, they'll often sacrifice facts, lessons and syllabi for the sake of being awesome. Executive Producer Daniel Weidenfeld compared characters on CHINA, IL to those in SEINFELD: Steve Smith, the calm and collected brother, is like Jerry Seinfeld; Frank Smith, the loose-cannon hotheaded brother, is like George Costanza; Pony is like Elaine Benes; and Baby Cakes is like Kramer. CHINA, IL returned for its third season on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 11:30pm ET/PT on Adult Swim. In its third season, the faculty will continue to provide absolutely no instructive growth for the University's students, thus prolonging graduation, as Baby Cakes struggles with his identity; humanities fate rests on Pony; a murder of crows are hired as professors; Frank's anus becomes a popular stand-up comedian; Frank, Steve, Pony, and Baby Cakes become life coaches for one another in order to not be like Chris Brown; and Donald Trump's son enrolls at UCI. We will also finally meet Baby Cakes' mom, and Steve and Frank's parents, as well as be treated to a special hour-long musical episode where Baby Cakes demands that he get a magical pet, like all other Disney Princesses. In addition to the recurring cast members, guest voices for Season 3 include: Donald Glover, Christian Slater, Danny Trejo, Ike Barenholtz, Bob Balaban, Cat Power, Paul Scheer, Zach Pearlman, and Justina Machada.
