Plot Synopsis

Based on the U.S. series CHOPPED, this one-hour competition series challenges four chefs to create a three-course meal from a basket of mismatched ingredients. After each course, an all-star panel of expert judges decides who gets chopped, until the only remaining competitor takes home the $10,000 prize. Hosted by Toronto-native Dean McDermott, who won Season 2 of RACHAEL VS. GUY: CELEBRITY COOK-OFF, CHOPPED CANADA features a panel of judges that includes: Lynn Crawford; Chuck Hughes; Michael Smith; Susur Lee; Roger Mooking; Vikram Vij; John Higgins; Anne Yarymowich; and more. Food Network aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 9pm ET/Pt, one week after its world premiere on Food Network Canada. CHOPPED CANADA returned for its second season on Food Network (USA) when the cable channel aired the U.S. premiere of Season 2 on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Slaying the Dragon Fruit," contestants used the exotic fruit in the appetizer round, and then had to contend with a sweet, cheesy basket for the entree and beer in the dessert round. Judges in the Season 2 premiere were Michael Smith, Susur Lee & Vikram Vij.
