Plot Synopsis

THE CHRIS GETHARD SHOW is a weekly series that features host Chris Gethard leading a panel of comedian oddball friends who participate in games, pull off bizarre stunts, and interact live with his worldwide fan following. The show began as a stage show at the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in 2009. It quickly gained a cult following and a reputation for pulling off some bizarre stunts, among them: using Twitter to book Diddy as a guest, staging a show to make a depressed teenager from Ohio have the best night of his life, and pulling off a cross-country tour, its route largely defined by people on Twitter while it was happening. In June of 2011, THE CHRIS GETHARD SHOW left the world of underground comedy and entered the world of underground television, debuting on New York's premiere public access station, the Manhattan Neighborhood Network. Four years later it moved to cable television on Fusion in 2015 for two seasons. Now, THE CHRIS GETHARD SHOW is moving to truTV for 16 live hour-long episodes, scheduled to debut Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11pm ET. In the Season 3 opener, "Too Many Pinatas," viewers pick pinatas that the Impractical Jokers destroy and give away what's inside. Previous episodes are available at YouTube:
After a four-month break, THE CHRIS GETHARD SHOW returned with new episodes on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11pm ET/PT on truTV. Chris Gethard welcomes Abbi Jacobson and gives away cars live on television. Chris adds, "We definitely can't afford to do that, but we're doing it anyway."
