Plot Synopsis

Based on the iconic 1983 theatrical film and the musical version of the feature that made its Broadway debut in 2012, A CHRISTMAS STORY LIVE! is a three-hour live musical that reimagines and reintroduces some of the most memorable moments and timeless characters from this classic holiday story. Taking place in 1940s Indiana, nine-year-old Ralphie Parker has only one holiday dream: to get a Red Ryder Range Model Carbine Action BB Gun for Christmas. Singer/songwriter Bebe Rexha opens A CHRISTMAS STORY LIVE! with a performance of the new song "Count on Christmas." The song was written specifically for the live musical event by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who were lyricists of LA LA LAND's Academy Award-winning song, "City of Stars." Pasek and Paul also composed "A Christmas Story: The Musical." On Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 7-10pm ET (live)/PT (tape delay), FOX premiered A CHRISTMAS STORY LIVE!.
