Plot Synopsis

In this weekly one-hour series, Hollywood's stars, showrunners and producers from the year's most acclaimed series and movies have a candid conversation with each other as they discuss their work and the industry. Each year, "The Hollywood Reporter" hosts roundtable discussions with six leading contenders for the Oscars and Emmys, including separate programs for drama actor, drama actress, comedy actor and comedy actress for each award. This year, the roundtables are televised by SundanceTV, with the first set of episodes focusing on television, leading up to the Emmy Awards, and the batch of programs highlighting theatrical films just before the Oscars. The 2015 Emmy Roundtable schedule included the following: TV Drama Actresses (Aug 2); TV Drama Actors (Aug 9); TV Comedy Actresses (Aug 16); TV Comedy Actors (Aug 23); Drama Showrunners (Aug 30); Comedy Showrunners (Sep 6); and Reality (Sep 13). Season 2 of CLOSE UP WITH THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER premiered on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 10am ET/PT on SundanceTV. The 14-episode second season is split into two half seasons, with seven episodes focusing on potential Emmy nominees this summer and seven episodes featuring potential Oscar nominees presented early 2017. SundanceTV premiered the third season of CLOSE UP WITH THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 10am ET/PT. Season 3 is divided into two parts: the first featuring candid roundtable discussions with notables from the television community, and the second, focusing on some of the most talented actors, actresses, directors, writers and producers from the film industry. The season opener features comedy actors.
CLOSE UP WITH THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER returned for the first half of its fourth season on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 10am ET/PT on SundanceTV. The first part of the season presents seven original episodes featuring roundtable discussions with Academy Award, Emmy Award, and Golden Globe nominated and winning actors, actresses and showrunners making an impact in the television industry today. A full schedule of the season is below. he new season, with TV Executive Editor Lacey Rose moderating six episodes and Awards Editor Rebecca Ford helming one, will include passionate and candid conversations with A-list talent from the year's most acclaimed series.
