Plot Synopsis

COLD CALL is a four-episode dark thriller set in Manchester, detailing the story of a single mother, June, as she tries to salvage her family's future after a phone call that changes her life. Following the death of her elderly mother and fueled by a bubbling rage, June attempts to hunt down those responsible to seek her revenge. Each episode explores just how far a normal woman can be stretched when a very real threat to her -- and her family's -- lives presents itself. June's life collapses when she becomes the victim of a cold call losing all the money from her house sale. She reconnects with Des, an old flame, who claims he can get her money back from the person responsible. Des proposes that June break into Kirk's office to find proof and also agrees to plant a dementia tracker on Kirk so Des can follow him. Des uses information to blackmail Kirk and warns June she is in danger. Kirk agrees to Des's demands but tracks the money. Aubrey finds the blackmailer; Des and follows him to June's daughter, Hana. June keeps her cover at Wiley's and befriends Kirk's wife Laura in order to manipulate Kirk's home life. June agrees to meet Wiley at the wedding confronting him about his crimes and blaming him for her Mum's death. Kirk begins to unravel and during the wedding Zima kills Des arriving later to kill June. COLD CALL had its U.S. premiere on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as SundanceNow released all four episodes of the series.
