Plot Synopsis

THE COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARDS celebrates the local heroes whose efforts are making a positive impact on their communities, and the celebrities who have made it a priority to use their fame to help others. THE 2015 COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARDS, hosted by Wendy Raquel Robinson, were held during the 2015 BET Experience at the Conga Room on June 27, 2015 in Los Angeles, CA, and later broadcast by Centric on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 7-8pm ET/PT. 2015 honorees include radio legend Tom Joyner (Community Icon Award) and actor/singer Tyrese (Community Vanguard Award). Other honorees include Mississippi Valley State University's Vester Waters (Community Impact Award), for his work with low income families in the Mississippi Delta and Detroit, and Michigan region, and Fayetteville State University's Tiffany Holloway (Community Impact Award) for her work with the homeless in the downtown Charlotte, North Carolina area. Host Wendy Raquel Robinson (Community Advocate Award) received a surprise award for her strong voice on key issues that matter most to her community.
