Plot Synopsis

Created by, executive produced by, and starring Alan Tudyk, CON MAN, a short-form web series, is a live-action comedy that centers on Wray Nerely, a struggling actor who goes on the sci-fi convention circuit after SPECTRUM, a sci-fi TV series pilot, went on to become a cult classic after it was canceled. As Wray navigates the world of fan conventions and all of the surreal experiences that go along with them, he tries to land a serious role that will win him the respect he so desperately craves. The series opens with Wray experiencing an unusual fan interaction in the airport men's room and, after accepting some timely advice from Sean Astin, is almost ejected from his flight by Air Marshall Cahoots (guest star Wil Wheaton). CON MAN debuted as a web series on Vimeo (13-episode first season) and Comic-Con HQ (12-episode second season).
On Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 10pm-1:25am, Syfy aired the linear television premiere of CON MAN, showing the entire 13-episode first season as six episodes of approximately 30 minutes each. Tudyk wrote and directed every episode of Season 1.
