Plot Synopsis

THE CONFESSION TAPES is a one-hour, true-crime documentary series that investigates cases where people convicted of murder claim their confessions were coerced, involuntary or false. These six tales come directly from people who claim their murderous confessions are not what they seem. In the two-part series opener, "True East," two teens are targeted by undercover police, who use a controversial technique to try to extract a confession following a gruesome triple murder. As the trial for Burns and Rafay unfolds, the suspects begin to understand the massive implications of their confessions. Netflix released the entire seven-episode first season of THE CONFESSION TAPES on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT.
Netflix release the four-episode second season of THE CONFESSION TAPES on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. In the season opener, "Gaslight," a weary truck driver confesses to murdering a 17-year-old girl following an exhausting interrogation without a lawyer to advise him.
