Plot Synopsis

CRIMINAL DEFENSE is a reality series that follows Brooklyn public defenders. Each 30-minute episode features two or three cases, including: a client charged with gun possession prove his innocence, as public defender Adam investigates a crime scene to help; a client charged in a domestic violence case, while public defender Aida attempts to uncover the truth behind the charges; a husband and father maintaining his innocence, who relies on public defender Adam to use videotape evidence that will be the key to his case; a desperate young mother, who is behind bars -- and accused of stabbing a cab driver -- while describing her ordeal as a case of self-defense, while public defender Tom tries to persuade the judge to dismiss the charges or release her without bail; and a grandmother -- facing the possibility of a year in jail for assaulting a competing shoe repair shop owner -- who is relying on public defender Aida and legal aid investigator Kevin look for a witness to the fight.
