Plot Synopsis

Each weekday evening (Mon-Fri at 6:28-7pm ET/3:28-4pm PT), this half-hour topical debate program pits two of its regular hosts against each other, as they discuss key news and cultural issues of the day from their own ideological perspective and areas of subject expertise. Plus, a guest with special insights on the topic central to that day's debate joins in the discussion. The hosts are: S.E. Cupp, former host of MSNBC's THE CYCLE; Stephanie Cutter, a former adviser for Barack Obama; Newt Gingrich, a GOP presidential candidate; and Van Jones, a former White House adviser. Originally scheduled to premiere on September 16, CNN moved up the premiere date of CROSSFIRE by one week "in light of rapidly changing events impacting the American response to the Syrian humanitarian crisis," according to a press release from the cable channel.
