Plot Synopsis

CUFF ME IF YOU CAN uses professional narrators to deliver the first-person accounts of criminals who were once on the run from the law but cannot tell their own stories. Some of them died during their attempts to flee police. Others are in a prison where the rules prevent them talking to the media. Some have served their time and disappeared from sight. Still many more individuals, who could have talked, died in prison. Plus, the series uses gritty re-enactments, interviews with the criminal's real family members and loved ones -- some of whom aided these individuals in their efforts to avoid capture -- and discussions with the actual police officers and detectives who finally arrested the offenders. The criminals include: Thomas Lollis, who gunned down Andre Wood during a fight in Akron, Ohio; Desiree Lingo-Perkins, who helped kidnap a boy for some extra cash and fled to Mexico after the kidnapping went wrong and the boy was murdered; James Martin, who flees the country after a drug deal with a Harvard student goes bad, ending in murder; William Hawley, a trained locksmith and an expert con artist addicted to cocaine, who botched a NYC robbery and fled to Florida; Trevor Woods, who, after botching one heist, went on the lam to Ohio where he thought he executed the perfect heist; and Jamey Dewayne Harris, who was a serial criminal -- everything from petty theft to drug manufacturing -- whose past finally caught up with him in the backwoods of Marion County, Tennessee.
