Plot Synopsis

Hosted by famed medical historian and author Dr. Lindsey Fitzharris, THE CURIOUS LIFE AND DEATH OF... is a one-hour documentary series that combines history, forensic science, and true crime to explore some of the most mysterious deaths in history -- and the often strange lives that preceded them. Whether its '90s icon Brittany Murphy, Rolling Stone founder Brian Jones, or axe-murderess Lizzie Borden (series premiere on Sep 6), the lives of these individuals are revealed by Fitzharris from her lab, where she performs virtual autopsies, experiments with blood samples, interviews witnesses, and conducts real-time demonstrations. Additional episodes reveal the team on a quest to identify a tiny body, "the Unknown Titanic Child," rescued from the icy Atlantic; the mysterious death of Harry Houdini; and the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar. Along the way, Fitzharris is joined by a revolving cast of experts, including Scotland Yard detectives, medical examiners, weapons gurus, and more.
On Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT, Smithsonian Channel premiered "Pablo Escobar," the season finale of THE CURIOUS LIFE AND DEATH OF... Was the shooting death of Pablo Escobar an act of justice, revenge or was it a suicide? Join Dr. Fitzharris to hear the verdict.
